Ordell Christian

Ordell "Ozzie" A. Christian, age 70, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Aurora Medical Center - Grafton with his family by his side. Ordell was born May 24, 1943 in Wausau, WI to his late parents Arthur and Belinda (Juedes) Christian. He was a 1961 graduate of Merrill High School, 1963 graduate of Northcentral Technical College with an associate degree in Architectural Technology and attended the University of Wisconsin Extension System. He served his country in the US Army Reserves from 1964 - 1970. On October 9, 1965 he was united in marriage to Nancy L. Roethel at Plankroad UCC Church in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. Ordell was a registered Architect in the state of Wisconsin and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He is co-owner of R.J. Jarvis Associates, Inc. Architects, Sheboygan for the past 17 years. He served on the Sheboygan Falls Planning Commission for 12 years. He enjoyed coin collecting, driving his Corvette, the outdoors, traveling, and deer hunting, especially the many hunting trips to Colorado, Wyoming, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Ozzie enjoyed attending and watching the Green Bay Packers, including attending the famous "Ice Bowl" of 1967. He was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Kohler, WI. Ozzie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a good friend to many. Surviving Ordell is his wife; Nancy, daughter; Sheryl (Gregg) Schuessler of Sheboygan, son; David (fiancé Trina) of Sheboygan, and granddaughter; Valerie Schuessler. He is further survived by one sister, Charlene Christian of Wausau and mother-in-law Roma Roethel of Sheboygan Falls. Preceding him in death were his parents, and father-in-law Willard Roethel. Memorial service will be held for Ordell on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 7:00 PM at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ) Gathering from 4:00 PM until time of service. The Rev. Thomas Schroeder will officiate. Private inurnment will take place at the Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of Ordell "Ozzie" Christian for Grace United Church of Christ, Kohler, WI.
