Patricia A. O'Brien, 83, a longtime resident of Sheboygan, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center in Plymouth. She was born on April 21, 1934 in Sheboygan to Arno and Viola (Berger) Herminghaus.

Patricia worked for Rex Clean in Sheboygan, and later for Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center in food service. She was an avid dog lover, NASCAR and Packer fan. Most important to Patricia was her family, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren creating memories. She was the family historian and would spend hours with her cousin Judy working on it, so the family would know their heritage.
She is survived by her son Patrick (Nancy) O'Brien, grandchildren; Francis (Dennis Wesener) O'Brien, Christopher (Amy) O'Brien, and Michael (Meredith) O'Brien, by great-grandchildren; Hudson, Brody, Harrison, Jack, and Madelyn, by step-children, Edward (Denise) Donohue and Jeannette (Joseph) White, by her sister-in-law Patricia Kalk, cousin Judy Kober, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, 2nd husband Alvin Donohue, brother Wayne Kalk, and step-son Kenneth Donohue.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral & Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St. Sheboygan, with Pastor DuWayne Hanke officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME.
In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Rocky Knoll Health Care Center in Patricia's name.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center for all their care, compassion, and support, and to Terry Jones for being a good neighbor for over 40 years and helping Patricia with her snow and lawn care.
Patricia died from complications of COPD. Her wish was to let people know that they should QUIT SMOKING, so they don't suffer like she had.
