Pauline Gerlat, age 97, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 12, 2017. She was born December 17, 1919 to the late Frank and Mary Petrauski. On October 1, 1938 she married Jerome Gerlat at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, who preceded her in death in 2011. Pauline was a loving mother and housewife with previous jobs at Gmach's Restaurant and Citizens Bank. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and lifelong member of St. Ann's Society and Mother of Good Counsel. Pauline was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul. She was a collector of angels and dolls and enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
Pauline was a loving mother of 5 children: James (Carrie) Gerlat of Florida, Diane (Roger) Schelk of Arizona, Judith (Arno) Hirschmann of Sheboygan, Kathleen (Kenneth) Schneider of Sheboygan, Carolyn (Glenn) Combs of Sheboygan; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers: Frank and Anton Petrauski.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Jerome Gerlat; one grandson, Kenneth (Kenner) Schneider; 4 sisters: Anne, Mary, Agnes and Celia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2720 Henry Street, Sheboygan, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Paul Fliss officiating. A visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. Pauline will be laid to rest at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
