Phyllis Welsch

Phyllis Ann Welsch age 74, was called home to the Lord Monday, November 23, 2015. Phyllis was born March 8, 1941 in Sheboygan to parents Arno and Freida (Steinhaus) Schultz. She graduated from Central High School in 1959. On June 4, 1960 she married Richard "Dick" F. Welsch in Sheboygan at St. Pauls UCC. Dick and Phyllis were married for over 44 years before he preceded her in death on October 2, 2004.
For years Phyllis was a homemaker, wife and mother to their three children. While raising her family she enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing, cooking and crafts. She also enjoyed bowling over the years in which she took first place in the singles divisional tournaments two years in a row. Recently, her interest turned to traveling all over this beautiful country of ours, 35 states including Hawaii and Alaska.
In 1980 she joined Ametek (ie: Pentair) where she developed the credit department and became the Credit Manager and supervisor of the accounts receivable department for over 28 years. Phyllis served as bookkeeper for her sons business the "Dumper Dans Charter Fishing Service" over a period of years. She had a great love for family boating and fishing adventures on Lake Michigan as well as the inland lakes. The Canadian fly-in excursions were a highlight in her love for fishing and the outdoors.
Phyllis was a long-time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. The most important gifts in her life were her family and home. Phyllis is survived by three children; Daniel (Jennifer) Welsch, Debra (Keith) Mathes and Sandra (Aron) Warner; six grandchildren, Zachary and Tyler Welsch, Bryce and Alyssa Mathes, and Joshua and Jacob Warner. Phyllis is also survived by a special cousin, Allen Van De Loo, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Arno Schultz and Freida (Walter) Siech and an infant brother.
Funeral Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran, 1614 S. 23rd Street, on Saturday, November 28 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Christian Gugel presiding. A time of gathering and support will be held from 12:00 PM - 2:45 PM. Committal service will be held at Wildwood Cemetery on Monday, November 30 at 2:00 PM. A memorial fund in her name has been established.
