Rebecca Rivera

Rebecca Ann Rivera AKA: Sr. Maria Cecil, 57, of Sheboygan, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. Becky was born in Phoenix, AZ to Vera (Drew) Rivera on October 1, 1958. She graduated from Thunderbird High School in Phoenix, AZ with the class of 1976 and attended Phoenix Technical College. Sr. Maria Cecil joined the Missionaries of Charity in 1989. She served the communities in New York, New Hampshire, Washington DC, Mexico and several other places throughout the country for over 21 years. Her faith was extremely strong, and never faltered even after she left the Missionaries of Charity due to health reasons. She moved to Sheboygan in 2011. Becky had a heart of gold and continued to care for people through her work with Comfort Keepers. A devote catholic and talented musician Becky used her gifts to Praise the Lord, by playing guitar and singing in the Latin Choir.
Becky is survived by her aunt Mary Hernandez of Sun City, AZ, Uncle John (Nellie) Drew of Goodyear, AZ, and nephew Hunter Baker of Phoenix, AZ.
She is further survived by many cousins, her Missionaries of Charity family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother and her brother Donald.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Clement's Catholic Church, 522 New York Ave. Sheboygan, with Rev. Gideon Buya officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
