Richard R. Vandoske, 61, passed away at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, Saturday, October 24, 2015. He was born in Sheboygan on November 12, 1953 to parents Rueben and Roma (Braun) Vandoske. Richard was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark's United Church of Christ. He graduated from Howards Grove High School in 1971. Upon graduation he took over the family farm. Richard was united in marriage on May 24, 1974 to Jane Hansen. They farmed together with their son Bob until the time of his death. Richard was a faithful member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Town of Mosel. He was a past Consistory member and Cemetery trustee. Richard enjoyed snowmobiling and bowling while his health allowed it. He was a sports enthusiast, loved watching The Packers & Brewers play and all sports in general. Nothing gave him more joy was when his grandchildren starting playing sports. He was in the stands and by far their #1 Fan! He was so excited to watch his oldest granddaughter, Ashley play high school sports and encouraged her to be the best she could be. Just this year his grandchildren, Brianne & Reid started showing animals for the farm and Richard was so proud of what they had accomplished and his smile was endless when they entered the show ring. One of Richards's greatest accomplishments was taking over his parent's dairy farm in 1971 at the age of 17, when his father passed away. They milked 33 cows and farmed approximately 75 acres. Through the years Richards's vision & passion for the farm grew. With the help of his wife Jane & son, Bob they were determined to make this farms potential endless. The hard work has shown and now they have grown the farm to be currently 500 milking cows and farming 1,000 acres; with much potential to grow for many generations in the future. What lit up Richards's eyes the most was when the kids would join him on the farm. Many days, Richard would have his grandchildren by his side on the farm either riding in the tractors during field work, picking stones during the spring or when teaching Austin how to drive the skidster. His children & grandchildren were his pride and joy and that was never unnoticed by anyone. Richard was given the ultimate gift five years ago when his son, Bob, donated his kidney to him. In doing that, Richard was able to enjoy many more years on farm, was present for many big milestones in his family's life like the birth of his last granddaughter, Brooklyn; giving him more memories with his friends and family. Richard is survived by his wife Jane; two children; Jenny (Dan) Radue and Bob (Tara) Vandoske; five grandchildren; Ashley and Austin Radue and Brianne, Reid and Brooklyn Vandoske; one brother Warren (Karen) Vandoske; five brothers-in-law; Allen (Elaine), Eugene (Nadine), Kenny, Buddy and Rick (Debbie) Hansen; two sisters-in-law; Pat Kuester and Mary Jo (Bill) Adamec; two uncles; Ron (Sue) and Lloyd (Terry) Vandoske; one aunt; Rogene Manz. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law; Walter and Mary Hansen; brother-in-law; Michael Kuester. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark's United Church of Christ N9286 Dairyland Dr. Cleveland, with Rev. Bill Kesting officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mark's Cemetery.
