Robert Schilder

Robert Urban Schilder, 60, of Howards Grove, passed away peacefully at his home on January 15, 2014, following a seven month struggle with cancer. Bob was born in Sheboygan on October 11, 1953 and was the youngest of four children born to Frederick and Betty (Kane) Schilder. Bob's greatest joy in life was finding his wife, Rita, who he married on September 13, 2013. They were soul mates who enjoyed traveling to destinations across the United States from Florida to Alaska. Bob was employed for 25 years at Curt Joa in Sheboygan Falls where he was an assembly lead man until his retirement. Bob often commented that while he enjoyed the work, he was most fond of the personal friendships he fostered. Bob enjoyed many golf trips to destinations throughout the southern United States and Wisconsin with a core group of friends. He also looked forward to yearly vacations in the Florida Keys with Rita and his mother. His camera seemed to be permanently attached to his hand as he documented each trip away from home. His weekly emails kept everyone updated on the life and times of Bob and Rita. His good humor, relaxing attitude and genuine concern for others made Bob the gentleman he was. You would be truly hard pressed to find someone with a heart bigger than Bob's. Bob is survived by his wife, Rita, Howards Grove; mother, Betty Kane, Sheboygan; brother, John (Lynn Meyer) Schilder, Sheboygan Falls; sister, JoAnn Alfred, Las Vegas; his very dear aunt and uncle, Marion and Bernie Simon, Anchorage, AK; step-brother, John (Alice) Kane, Canandaigua, NY; stepchildren, Jeremiah Repinski, Maniowoc, and Lindsey (Jeremy) Hawig, Manitowoc; sisters-in-law, Pat (Bob) Koenig, Madison, Kathy (Al) Rogne, Two Rivers, Sue LaFond, Madison, Mary (Tom) Stueck, Two Rivers; brother-in-law, Andre (Kris) LaFond, Two Rivers; nieces and nephews, Wendy (Walid) Saade, Allen (Brenda) Schilder, Dale (Jenny) Schilder, Amy (Mike) Goetsch, Jacob Meyer, Jason (Sara) Koenig, Nick (Kim) Rogne, Angie (Tom) Ellingson, Jennifer and Jeffrey (Erin) LaFond; step-grandchildren, Cameron and Cody Repinski; great-nieces and nephews, Hunter, Ava, Drake and Deegan Schilder, Jana and Maya Saade, Kolton Goetsch, Raina and Maya Rogne, Jack Ellingson, Joshua, Archer and Jasper LaFond. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick, brother, James, step-father, Carl and step-mother, Ellen and aunt and uncle, Joanette and Frank.
