Roger A. Wendland, age 51, of Sheboygan, died Monday afternoon, January 12, 2015 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. He was born August 5, 1963 in Oshkosh to James and Donna (Perronne) Wendland. He attended local Sheboygan Public Schools and was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, Class of 1982. He furthered his education at Lakeland College before enlisting in the US Air Force. He achieved the rank of Sergeant before his honorable discharge in 1988. He was an accomplished wrestler both in high school and while stationed in Europe when he was in the US Air Force. For a number of years Roger was employed at the Kohler Co. Roger enjoyed fishing trips with his good friend, Mike Konz, as well as hunting, Green Bay Packer games, Milwaukee Brewers games, and playing cards. He also enjoyed good times spent with his family. He is survived by his father, James Wendland of Milwaukee; his mother Donna Wendland of Sheboygan; his brother, Todd Wendland of Sheboygan; and his sister, Tammy (Simon) Greuel of Chilton; his niece, Taylor (Jared) Roe; his nephews, Isaac Greuel, Evan Greuel, and Alex Greuel; two great-nephews, Lyric and Odin Roe; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, and uncles. A memorial gathering in honor of Roger's life will be celebrated at a later date which will be announced at that time.
