Roger Williams

Roger R. Williams, 80, of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at home. Roger was born July 25, 1935, in Sheboygan, to the late Wilbur and Marion (Pitchler) Williams. Roger graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1954. He was employed by Wisconsin Power and Light before attending school for banking. During his career, he worked at several local banks, including Citizens Bank, Norwest Bank, Superior Credit Union and State Bank of Random Lake, finishing his career as bank president. Roger married his high school sweetheart, Diane Kunert. She preceded him in death in 1986. He was an avid golfer who competed in many local tournaments and earned a hole-in-one at Quit Qui Oc Golf Course in Elkhart Lake. As a season ticket holder for the Green Bay Packers, he and Diane enjoyed many games at Lambeau Field. Roger was a member of the Ys-Men through the YMCA. He was also a member of Zion Church, serving as treasurer and sang in the choir. Roger was also a treasurer for the Buccaneers Color Guard, of which his daughters were marching members. He enjoyed many family trips to Florida and numerous trips to Hawaii.
Survivors include two daughters, Jodi (Carl) Mazza and Tracy (John) Gaynor, both of Sheboygan; two grandchildren, Michael (Kaitlyn) Mazza and Lindsay Mazza; one sister, Judy (Richard) Belitz of Sheboygan and special friend, Diane Claussen.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Zimmers Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 JJ, Howards Grove). Please visit www.zimmerfuneralhome.com to sign the guestbook.
