Ronald E. Becker, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Morningside Health Center.
He was born on November 23, 1940, in Sheboygan to the late Eldred and Bernice (Ashbock) Becker. He graduated from North High School in 1959 and then furthered his education at Carroll University, graduating in 1963. On September 9, 1963, Ron married Nancy Kaczmarek. She preceded him in death on August 8, 1994. On May 10, 1997, Ron was united in marriage to Darla Manske. She preceded him in death on November 20, 2016.
Ron owned and operated Chair City Motor Express Co. until 1982, and then formed Transpo Services and Transpo Mini Storage in 1995, which is still growing today. He was a faithful member to Zion Evangelical Covenant Church where he served on the consistory, as its president, along with other committees. He also served as past president of Sheboygan Transportation Association and the WI Self Storage Association. Ron was also a current member of the Sheboygan Rotary Club and the Sheboygan Yacht Club. Ron was a volunteer with the Fresh Meals on Wheels program as well as serving on the board.
He was a car guy, but also enjoyed reading, traveling, boating, researching local history and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ron is survived by his children, Pam (Rob) Adema, Jon (Tina) Becker; step-children, Dawn (Joey) Kay and Dena (Dennis Stapelkamp) Manske; grandchildren, Andrew Becker, Kimberly (Josh) Rindt, Nicholas Becker, Austin Adema and Emma Adema; step-grandchildren, Quincy Kay and Clayton Kay; great-grandchild, Isabelle and special friend, Lori Booth.
A Memorial Service for Ron will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Zion Evangelical Covenant Church, 1125 N 6th St. in Sheboygan, with Pastor Chris McKnight officiating. Family will greet visitors on Saturday at church from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. Ron will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Kohler. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ron’s name and will be distributed to some of Ron’s favorite charities.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sheboygan Aurora Medical Center, Morningside Health Center and at Terrace Estates for the excellent care given to Ron.
