Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Rosemary Lind, age 86, of Cleveland, WI passed away peacefully Saturday morning, September 3, 2016 in her residence.
Rosemary was born September 19, 1929 in Hampshire, Illinois to the late John and Rose (Schiesher) Lehman. Rosemary was the eldest of three children, and grew up in Hampshire. After graduation from Hampshire Township High School, Rosemary attended Community College where she earned her associate degree in Home Economics.
On June 18, 1955 Sam Lind and Rosemary Lehman were united in marriage in Hampshire, IL. The couple had three children, Nancy (Mark) Lustig of Jackson, WI, David (Roxanne) Lind of Allenton, WI and Janet (Daniel) Syverson of Minnetrista, MN; six grandchildren, Matthew Lustig, Eric Lind, Jessica (Dylan) Tucker, Brianna Lustig, Adam Syverson, and Kayla Syverson. Rosemary is further survived by her brother, Karl (Evelyn) Lehman and her sister-in-law, Pat Lehman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Sam Lind and her brother, Ralph Lehman.
Rosemary worked her entire life in a variety of positions, including being a Secretary for Elgin Watch Company in the late 1940's, a model for Sears & Roebuck in the 1950's, a Secretary for the Indiana University Geology department in the 1960's, and then finding her niche at Family Services in Sheboygan for 25 years. Her love of people and willingness to help others made this a perfect match for her. After retirement, Rosemary also served as a volunteer with fourth and second grade students in Cleveland Grade School. This allowed her to combine her love of children and reading for many years.
Rosemary was a strong woman who faced and beat breast cancer 10 years ago. In October of 2015 she was diagnosed and battled pancreatic cancer with the same bravery; unfortunately, this disease was unrelenting.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2016 at St. Dominic Catholic Church by Rev. Phil Reifenberg, Pastor. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 9:00 until the time of mass. A family burial will be held in Escanaba, Michigan on Saturday, September 17th.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Burfeind and the Kraemer Cancer care team, as well as the Heartland Hospice team, for their comfort and care to Rosemary and her family.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Cancer Society or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
