Rueben A. Erdmann, age 86, of Sheboygan, went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday January 4, 2016.
He was born January 15, 1929 in Sheboygan Falls to Theodore and Malinda (Damrow) Erdmann. He was a graduate of Sheboygan Central High School, Class of 1947. Following graduation, he served his country in the US Army, stationed in Alaska.
On October 10, 1953 Rueben and Margaret Weber were united in marriage. She preceded him in death on January 18, 2010.
For thirty years Rueben was employed at Wisconsin Power and Light in various positions from line crew to service technician.
Raised next to Pine Hills and a longtime member of Riverdale, Rueben became a well-known golfer, wining many championships, both local and statewide. He also enjoyed playing fast pitch softball and league bowling.
He was member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was an usher for many years. He also enjoyed playing German card games. He also was a member of VFW Post #9156.
Rueben is survived by two sons, Todd (Tammy) Erdmann and Timothy Erdmann all of Sheboygan; six grandchildren, Penny Houdek, Michael Skelton, Hollie (Marc) Erdmann-Ehler, Rachel Erdmann, Janel (friend, Nick) Erdmann, and Marla (James) Hitsman; eight great-grandchildren, Alivia, Riley, Robbie, Bohde, Mollie, Hunter, Austin, and Madison; one brother, Donald (Jean) Erdmann of Little Chute, WI; one sister, Sandra (Ken) Roth of Sheboygan; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Erdmann of Florida; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roman Erdmann and Darwin Erdmann and a son-in-law, Joe Houdek.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Rev. Timothy J. Mech, Senior Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial with full military honors will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
