Ruth A. Belanger

Ruth (Becher) Belanger, born on June 10, 1931, in Appleton, WI, daughter of Delia F. and Carl J. Becher, died on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at the Aurora Medical Center in Sheboygan. 

Ruth attended Appleton schools, graduated from Appleton High School and also studied at the University of Wisconsin Madison for two years. She married Joseph F. Belanger on December 6, 1951. The couple lived in Anchorage, Alaska and Riverside, California until Joseph was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. They also lived in Appleton, WI while Joseph attended and graduated from Lawrence University. They then moved to Glenview, IL where Joseph was employed by Monogram Models Inc. 

Following the birth of her children, Christopher Carl and Carla Jean, they moved to Kiel and then St. Anna, WI while Joseph was employed by Lake to Lake Dairy. After retirement, they moved to Sheboygan. 

Ruth enjoyed swimming at the YMCA and Sports Core, book clubs, Wednesday Mahjong at the Yacht Club, and being with dear friends for Friday dinners. 

Along with her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her daughter, Carla Jean and in-laws. 

Ruth is survived by her dear son, Christopher Belanger; sister, Barbara (Bob) Mueller and their family. 

A celebration of Ruth's life will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Sheboygan Yacht Club, 214 Pennsylvania Ave. in Sheboygan.
