Ruth Ann (Dykman) Dekker, 84, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021, due to pancreatic cancer. She was the oldest child and only daughter born to Clarence and Gertrude (Schaper) Dykman on a farm near Manhattan, MT. Ruth attended Manhattan Christian School and graduated from Western Christian High School, Hull, IA in 1954.
She taught at Sheboygan Christian School for five years and met her husband, Marvin Dekker, in the Radio Choir of the First Christian Reformed Church, Sheboygan, now known as Christ Community Church. They were married on December 27,1958. Ruth later worked as a secretary at Farnsworth Middle School retiring in1998. She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their sports and school activities. Ruth was involved in many committees in the Christian school, taught Sunday School and led Bible studies in her church. She was a devoted Christian who loved her Lord.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Marvin of 62 years; her children, Ralph (Jill) Dekker, Roy (Lori) Dekker, Karen (Jeff) Kaiser of Winneconne, and Ryan (Amy) Dekker of Brookfield. Grandchildren; Jeremy (Amy) Dekker, Justin Dekker, Michelle Dekker of Muskegon, MI, Taylor Dekker of Minneapolis, MN, Henry and Charles Kaiser of Winneconne, Sam, Sarah, and Joseph Dekker of Brookfield, and great-grandchildren; Treston, Austen, Rylan, and Emalyn Ruth Ann. Two brothers, Clarence (Janice) Dykman of Vancouver, WA and Gene (Elaine) Dykman of Manhattan, MT, a sister-in-law, Corrine Smies of Denver, CO, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Christ Community Church on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at 12:00 Noon, with Pastor Josh Van Engen officiating, Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the CHURCH.
Memorials may be made to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center Sheboygan.
