Ruth Ann Hermann 84, a proud and lifelong veteran of the Marines, Air Force and Navy, passed away Sunday, July 17th. 2022.
Ruth Ann is the daughter of the late Dorothy and Carl Hermann. Ruth Ann grew up in Sheboygan, WI. She was born June 1, 1938 and attended Sheboygan North High School.
At the age of 19, Ruth Ann enlisted in the Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959 and then going on to enlist in the Air Force Reserve from 1961 to 1964, and then the Navy Reserve from 1965 until retirement in 1989.
She valued this service highly and attained the rank of E7 YNC-Chief Petty Officer with the Navy. As part of Ruth's service, she served as Commander in the Great Lakes, IL and as Commander of the DAV in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ruth had recalled many of times how she really enjoyed being in a flying medical evacuation squadron during her service.
Ruth Ann is survived by sister, Peggy Genke and husband, Larry of Sheboygan. Brother, C. James Hermann of New Holstein. Nephew and God Son, Christopher Hermann and wife, Jennifer of Howards Grove. Niece and God Daughter, Tracy Arnoldi Arens and fiancé, Jim Swenor of Manitowoc. Nephews, Todd Arnoldi and wife, Vici and Tim Arnoldi and wife, Jackie from Sheboygan Falls. Great Nephews, Caden Hermann, Steve and Zachary Arens, Alex, Hayden, Grant and Cole Arnoldi and Great Niece, Brooke Arnoldi. In addition to her Great Great Nephew, Luca Arens. Ruth also is survived by many friends, who became family to her, Gay Garris and Lois Baldwin. Thank you for being family to her.
Her loved ones will always remember Ruth’s take charge, tell it like it is attitude and the fun she brought into their lives. The many memories created in family travel from young on with Ruth will always bring joy and happiness as we so fondly remember her and all her accomplishments.
A service honoring the life of Ruth Ann Hermann will be held Friday, July 22nd, 2022, at Greenlawn Memorial Park Chapel at 11:00 AM with burial and military honors to follow. For those who would like to attend Ruth’s service virtually can do so on her obituary on www.ballhornchapels.com
