Sandra L. Schlei

Sandra L. Schlei, age 82, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Rocky Knoll Health Care where she had been a resident for the past ten years.

She was born in Exland, WI on September 22, 1941, to the late Riley and Lorraine (Campbell) Whyte. She graduated from Bruce High School and then attended UW Stout and Cardinal Stritch University, where she earned her masters degree in education. On December 28, 1963, Donald was united in marriage to Sandy Whyte in Hayward, WI. Sandy was a learning disability teacher in Sheboygan and Random Lake. She was a longtime member of First United Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.

Sandy enjoyed reading, teaching, friends, shopping, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Sandy is survived by her daughters, Renee’ (Robert) Lee and their children Ashlyn, Caitlyn, Allisyn, and Madison, Jodi Schlei and her children Ben and Megan and Amy (Jay) Montemayor and their children Riley and August; siblings, Jill (David) Roehl and Robert (Patti) Whyte; nieces, nephews, other family and friends further survive.

Along with her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her husband Donald and sisters, Myrna (Richard) Taylor and Carol (Ken) Teal.

A Memorial Service for Sandra will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 20, 2023, at First United Lutheran Church, 2401 Kohler Memorial Drive in Sheboygan. Family will greet visitors at church on Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Sandra will be laid to rest next to Donald in the columbarium at First United Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Sandy’s name.

The family would like to thank the staff at both Rocky Knoll Health Care and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the excellent care given to Sandy.
