Selma "Sally" Grube, 95, of West Bend, formerly of Sheboygan, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday Evening, June, 7, 2014 at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. Selma was born May 15, 1919 in Sheboygan to Gottlieb and Elizabeth (Ruppel) Ibe. She attended St. Paul's Lutheran Grade School and was a graduate of Sheboygan High School, Class of 1937. Selma Ibe and Gerald G. Grube were highschool sweethearts and were united in marriage on July 5, 1941 by Rev. Harold Schmidt of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Gerald preceded her in death on November 14, 1991. Selma and Gerald would spend their winters in Tamarac,Fl since 1984 until she moved back to West Bend, WI in 2008. Sally was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and recently a member of Cedar Ridge Chapel in West Bend. She was also a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Alter Guild, Charter member of Agape Circle, Shoreline Women's Club, Valparaiso University Guild, and Pine Hills Country Club. Sally also volunteered at Bethesda Thrift Store and was a Docent at John Michael Kohler Art Center. She enjoyed crafts such as needlepoint, crocheting, counted cross stitch, reading and traveling. Sally's most impressive trip was to the Holy Land. She is survived by two daughters, Judith (James) Gardner of West Bend and Kathleen (Philip) Warren of Hallendale, Fl.; five grandchildren, Lori (Kurt) Henning of Jackson, WI, Kevin (Laura) Gardner of Mukwonago, WI, Keith (Amy) Gardner of West Bend, WI , Michael (Rachelle) Warren of Coral Springs, FL, and Jennifer (Robby) Hicks of West Palm Beach, FL; ten great- grandchildren, Heather, Andrea, Kirsten, and Jared Henning all of Jackson, WI, Nicholas and Alyssa Gardner of West Bend, WI, Abigail and Alexis Gardner of Mukwonago, WI, Savannah Hicks of West Palm Beach, Fl, and Aubrey Warren of Coral Springs, FL; a sister, Elsie Verhulst of Brookfield, WI; and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Gerald, Sally was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda; two brothers-in-law, Howard Verhulst and Edward Buetow; a niece, Peggy Butler; and many other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Rev. Alan Kretschmar, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sheboygan, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held on Wednesday from 11:00am until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Garden Terrace Mausoleum. A memorial fund has been established in Selma's name. Selma's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at St. Joseph's Hospital, West Bend, and Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon for the care and compassion shown to her.
