Shirley Franz

Shirley M. Franz, 83, of Howards Grove, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. She was born September 30, 1931 in Sheboygan to the late Werner and Sophia (Erdmann) Beeck. On January 22, 1949 she married Henry Franz in Sheboygan. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1994. Shirley worked various jobs from the age of 16 including school bus driving and working in factories before retiring from Mayline Company in Sheboygan. She enjoyed fishing, camping, baking and playing Bingo with her many friends. Survivors include four children, Peter (Katherine) Franz, Tommy (Cindy) Franz, Nancy (Robert) Kever and Susan (David) Rieth; fourteen grandchildren, Elizabeth (Aaron) Temple, Laura (Craig) Corsten, Carol (Alex) Amaya, Casey Franz (Special Friend, Rachael), Andrew Franz (Special Friend, Gina), Adam Franz, Curtis Franz (Special Friend, Amanda), Brandon Franz, Jessica Hernandez, Gina Hernandez, Wade Kever, Cheryl Kever, Ashley Rieth and Christopher Rieth; 15 great grandchildren; one brother, Ronny (Jan) Beeck, Florida; one sister-in-law, Imogene Beeck, Brown Deer. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Franz, one granddaughter, Teresa Franz, one brother, Robert Beeck and one sister, Geraldine (Richard) Bauer. A funeral service for Shirley will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church (W1264 County Road FF, Haven) with the Rev. Kenneth Serr officiating. Friends may call on Monday, January 19, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ballhorn Chapels (1201 N. 8th Street, Sheboygan) and again on Tuesday, at church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow the service at Immanuel Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in her name. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Catherine Best, Dr. George Kuttickat and the staff of the Aurora Medical Center.
