Shirley Goetsch

Shirley M. Goetsch, age 85, passed away Saturday evening, October 31, 2015 at Pine Haven Christian Home. She was born May 21, 1930 in Milwaukee to Henry and Caroline (Zimplemann) Lange. She was a graduate of Washington High School in Milwaukee, Class of 1950. On April 8, 1961 Shirley was united in marriage to Willard E. Goetsch at Reformation UCC in Milwaukee. Shirley worked for a time as a dental assistant and with her husband at 400 West Beauty Salon in Milwaukee which they owned and operated. After they retirement, they moved to the Sheboygan area. They enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, ballroom dancing, and entertaining. Willard preceded Shirley in death on June 22, 2009. For a number of years Shirley worked in the bakery at the American Club, a job that she thoroughly enjoyed. Shirley was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ. Her hobbies included reading and needlepoint. Shirley is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Mavis and Robert Brodesser of Menomonee Falls; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Werdermann; and her sisters, Lorraine Huel and Lucille Brauch. Funeral services for Shirley will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at St. John's United Church of Christ. Rev. Gregory S. Whelton, Pastor, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated in Shirley's name to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, St. John's UCC, or Pine Haven Christian Home. Special thanks to the staffs at Pine Haven Christian Home and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their loving care of Shirley.
