Shirley Strassburg, age 90, of Sheboygan passed away peacefully accompanied by family on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Cedar Grove Gardens in Cedar Grove.
Shirley was born August 14, 1931, to Emil and Anna (Butgereit) Stanisch in Sheboygan. She graduated from Sheboygan Central High School with the class of 1949. After high school, she was employed at VeriFine Dairy for several years before starting her career at Kohler Company in the Generator Division. Shirley retired from Kohler Company after 33 years.
Shirley enjoyed bowling, golf, and building miniatures. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She was the longest living member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer where her parents were founding members.
Shirley will be forever missed by her sons, Larry (Carrie) Strassburg of Waldo and David (Laura) Strassburg of Henderson, Nevada; grandchildren, Nathan and Ryan Strassburg; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Shirley was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lou Ann; her parents; and her brother, Marvin Stanisch.
A funeral service will be held for Shirley on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 11:00 AM at The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer (3027 Wilgus Ave, Sheboygan, WI 53081) with Pastor Bryan Osladil officiating. A public visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM before the service at the church.
Shirley’s family would like to thank the nursing staff with Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and the caregivers at Cedar Grove Gardens for their care and devotion towards Shirley.
