Shirley Zempel

Shirley Ann Zempel (Liebelt), 83, passed away Wed, April 12th, peacefully in her sleep to be with her Lord.

Shirley was born May 22nd, 1933 in Sheboygan, the daughter of Minnie Hermann and Fritz Liebelt. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, daughter Connie, brother Randy, father Fritz and mother Minnie. She is survived by her children, Debra (Jim) Gibeault, Terry (Vicky) Lutz, Candy (Denny) Elwell, Gina (Dan) Kessler, Todd (Lisa) Spiro, siblings Beverly Dorn, Karla Schenk, Kurt Hermann, Mike Liebelt, Linda Liebelt and close friend and personal care giver Julee Holbrook, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Shirley grew up in Sheboygan, attending local schools. Shirley met Jack, the love of her life, married and lived in Janesville for 13 years. They enjoyed traveling to Arizona and Florida. Shirley loved socializing with friends and family, and gave us all the gift of laughter and love. Her sense of humor and loving personality will be greatly missed by all those she touched.

A celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Friday, April 21st at 11:00 at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center (1201 N. 8th Street, Sheboygan). Friends may call on Friday, at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private inurnment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to be used for Sheboygan Progressive Care Center.
