Stephen G. Johnson, 53 of Chilton, passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 7, 2015. He was born January 27, 1961 in Sheboygan to Walter and Donna Flemming Johnson. He attended Immaculate Conception Grade School and graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 1979. Steve attended U.W. Eau Claire and LTC. He worked in manufacturing and production as well as in transportation services. In his spare time, Steve loved fishing, crossword puzzles, cooking, politics and was an avid sports fan; following the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. He was mechanically inclined, "MacGyver-ing" any car or appliance he put his hands on. But most family and close friends will remember Steve's hilarious sense of humor. He was extremely quick witted and trumped anyone willing to exchange banter. Everyone experienced a great laugh in his presence. His faith in God our Father was evident throughout his life. He was ever so grateful for his blessings, most notably, his children. This became clearer after the miraculous birth of his son, Josh. He wanted nothing more than to spend time with them. He enjoyed his daughter Brooke's soccer triumphs and one of the most recent highlights of his life was attending his daughter Paige's college graduation ceremony last spring. He was a loving father, son, brother and friend who cherished family get togethers, especially hosting the Thanksgiving holiday for many years. Steve was always willing to help family or neighbors when called upon. He was also a kind soul to animals; opening his home and heart to all the strays/pets the children insisted on keeping. Steve will be sadly missed by his three children: Paige(Zach) Johnson of Milwaukee, Joshua(Alivia) and Brooke Johnson of Chilton, parents, Walter and Donna Johnson of Sheboygan, a brother, John Johnson of Lansing, MI, sisters, Jean(Scott) Pool, of Cumming, GA, Mary(Randy) Polster of Sheboygan, Judy(Neal) Verhulst and Patti(Greg) Fischer, both of Sheboygan Falls. He is further survived by nieces and nephews including Matt (Hillary), Whitney (Jason), Dustin, Stephanie, Jake, Mike, Lauren, Cailin, Tony, Ethan, Nataly, Emerson and Vernon, as well as aunts, uncles and close cousins. Preceding him in death were both maternal and paternal grandparents. Private services for immediate family members will be held at Zimmer Westview Funeral Home in Sheboygan, WI.
