Steven R. Fischer, age 66 passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born on October 16, 1948 in Sheboygan to his late parents Frederick Fischer Jr. and Mildred (Rusch) Fischer. Steve attended Immanuel Lutheran grade school, Farnsworth middle school and graduated from South High School in 1967. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1967 - 1970, serving in Vietnam from 1968 - 1969. Steve worked for many years at Verifine Dairy. While attending South High School, Steve played basketball and football, holding the record for the most points scored during a North vs South basketball game for many years. Steve enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, golfing and fishing, including a yearly trip to Michigan with Tom. He took pleasure in camping, playing catch with Kujo, meeting with friends at McDonalds, working Sudoko puzzles, playing games on the computer and working the voting polls. Most notably, Steve will be remembered for his sense of humor and always having a joke for someone. Steve is survived by Linda, his loving wife of 29 years; three daughters, Louicia Fanslau, Heather (Jim) Wiroll, and Lisa (Greg Blaise) Bradford; five grandchildren, Jorden (friend Jenna Teal) Fanslau, Elisha Walton, Jack and Emma Wiroll, and Melissa Guetenberger; one great-grandson, Carter Steven Fanslau; one brother, Peter (friend Deb Streblow) Fischer; two sisters, Karen (Bill) Schlegel and Jodi (friend Dave Louisier) Kerwin; three sisters-in-law, Mary (Glen) Pierce, Barb (Bob) Fox and Karen (Tom) Seering; fifteen nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends, and has been a friend with Bill W. since 1987. A time of gathering and support will be held for friends and family on Saturday, April 25 from 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM at the Sheboygan Elks Lodge, 1943 Erie Avenue. A celebration of life will take place at 2:30 PM followed by sharing of memories. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or American Lung Association are appreciated.
