Steven Kolste

Steven John Kolste age 63, Passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born on September 27, 1952 to parents John and Bernice (Lohr) Kolste in Sheboygan. Steve was a 1971 graduate of Sheboygan North High School. He played tennis while attending Cal State - Northridge and graduated Magna Cum Laude from UW - Green Bay in 1975 with a degree in Modernization Process. Steve enjoyed his 37 year career at Bemis Manufacturing, where he was involved in Quality, Operations and Marketing. He was united in marriage on December 9, 2009 in Bangkok, Thailand to Sompaktra Ore Sangsuwan.
Steve's interests and hobbies included tennis, golf and a love for American cars, owning 87 in his lifetime. He was a talented musician and a member of Sheboygan Community Band. Steve was an avid reader and enjoyed mystery novels. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, niece and nephew.
Steve is survived by his wife Ore; three children, Aaron (Dana) Kolste, Alison (Jason) Koenig and Amy (Josh) Arthur; ten grandchildren, Ian, Brynn, Blair and Cameron Kolste, Marin, Eden, Evelyn, Scarlett and Ivy Koenig, and Abigail Arthur, one sister, Annie (Bob) Somermeyer; one nephew, Sean (Kiri) Somermeyer; one niece, Carly Somermeyer; one great-niece, Isla Somermeyer; and former spouse, Mary Jo Sutton. Also survived by other relatives and many friends.
A time of visitation and support will be held at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th Street, on Wednesday, June 29, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Funeral Service at 1:00 PM with Rev. Warren Waddell presiding. Committal at Wildwood Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund or the Junior Achievements. The Kolste family is grateful for the friendship and support of the Bemis company and family as well as the passionate care from Dr. Marshall Matthews and his team, throughout Steve's illness.
