Thelma M. Dams age 93, found peace on Friday, April 29, 2016. She was born on January 22, 1923 to parents Ferdinand and Hannah (Harkness) Anderson in Akron, IA. Thelma graduated from Akron High School in 1940. She was united in marriage on November 25, 1944 to Elwood Dams. After the war Elwood and Thelma settled in Muskego in 1953.
Thelma enjoyed needlework, tending to her garden and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed listening to her wide collection of music and baseball on the radio. She will be remembered for her quiet generosity, spirit and her quick wit, followed by her infectious giggle.
Thelma is survived by; two children, Doug Dams and Sandy (Bob) Rockhill; four grandchildren, Hannah (Matthew) Dallman, Maggie (Andy) Hardy, Taylor (fianc Meena Chelvakumar) Rockhill and Carter Rockhill; six great-grandchildren, Twyla, Isadora, Oona and Marla Dallman and Alice and Patrick Hardy; one sister-in-law, Maxine Anderson. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Thelma is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elwood; daughter, Sheryl Pendzich; two brothers, Elmer and Les Anderson; brother-in-law, Frank Dams; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Gradecki, Lois Ostrenga and Ruth Potrykus.
Funeral Services will be held at Zimmer Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Road, (Hwy 42 JJ) on Wednesday, May 4 at 5:00 PM with Rev. Elizabeth Jaeger presiding. A time of visitation and support will be held from 3:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will be at Wood National Cemetery, Milwaukee. The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living Center for their care and support over the years. Also a special thanks to AseraCare Hospice. Memorials in Thelmas name to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
