Thomas J. Gruenke, 80, of Sheboygan, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. Tom was born in Sheboygan on May 24, 1940 to John and Anne (Stiglitz) Gruenke. Tom graduated from Central High School in 1959.
On October 13, 1962 he was united in marriage to Agnes Ann Loebbaka. They just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.
Tom was extremely proud to work for the Brotz Family working at Plastics Engineering for 39 years retiring at the young age of 58.
Having a strong faith, he was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Sheboygan. He was a 4th degree knight with the Sheboygan Chapter 722 Knights of Columbus.
Tom was very active in the church, everything from handyman to the church picnic "tent" man. His love for family and brothers was deeply shown with his involvement in projects, repairs and social times.
Tom had a love for the outdoors, evidenced by many years of camping trips, and the famous fishing trip that was in existence for39 years. He found great solitude in maintaining his Terry Andrea property. He was well known for his stories and sense of humor.
Tom is survived by his wife, Aggie, son Daniel (Linda) and daughter Julie (Todd) Kinney both of Sheboygan, four grandchildren, Cody Gruenke, Faith Gruenke, Amanda Kinney, Ryan Kinney, by his brothers Ron (Janet) Gruenke, Gary (Jane) Gruenke, Bob (Marie) Gruenke, Jerry (Sue) Gruenke and nieces and nephews. Other survivors include special nieces and nephew Jessica, Jason and Amy, and many other relatives and friends.
Tom is proceeded in death by his parents John and Anne Gruenke.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sharon Richardson Hospice and Knights of Columbus.
A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 1:00 PM at SS.Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 822 New Jersey Ave. Sheboygan, with Rev. Paul Fliss officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on October 29, 2020 from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at the CHURCH. Covid 19 guidelines will be followed. Masks will be required, social distancing by 6ft, and the use of hand sanitizer when entering the church.
The family would like to thank the Sheboygan Fire Department for their fast response to many calls made for their assistance, and the entire staff at Sharon Richardson for their care and compassion to Tom and the family during Tom's stay.
