Thomas Messner

July 28, 1936 — September 12, 2015

Thomas L. Messner age 79, died peacefully at his home, Saturday, September 12, 2015. He was born July 28, 1936 to parents, Ralph and Viola (Boldt) Messner in Sheboygan Falls. He attended local schools and was a 1954 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. Tom was united in marriage on May 17, 1958 to Marshia Hilgenberg at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Sheboygan Falls. He was employed for 44 years at Sheboygan Paper Box Company and Georgia Pacific Company. Tom enjoyed camping up north, fishing and hunting. He spent many winters traveling with his wife out west in their RV. He was an avid Packer and Badger fan. Tom also enjoyed Nascar racing. Tom will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit. Tom is survived by three sons; Todd (Peggy) Messner, Terrance Messner, Troy (fiancé Julie Kruschke) Messner all of Sheboygan; one daughter, Jodi (Todd) Berglund of Elkhart Lake; three grandsons, Zachary and Jeremey Berglund and Noah Claerbout; one brother-in-law, Scott (Kathie) Hilgenberg; one niece, Kimberly (Jermey) Schueller. He is further survived by his lifelong friends Ed and Joan Weiher and Doug and Pat Wrensch, other relatives and friends. Tom is preceded in death by his parents and wife Marshia. Memorial Service will be held at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th St., on Friday, September 18 at 7:30 PM with Rev. Greg Whelton presiding. A time of visitation and support will be held from 4:00 PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends make a donation to their favorite charity in Tom's name. The family wishes to thank Maryann Wleklinski and staff at Aurora At Home for making Tom's final days comfortable.
