W. Janet Hermann of Sheboygan passed away Saturday, September 8, 2018 at The Waterford at Plymouth. She was 86 years old.
Janet was born on January 21, 1932 at the family farm near Dousman, WI to Oscar and Winifred Nelson. She graduated from Waukesha High School and then studied nursing.
On July 5, 1980, she was united in marriage with Wallace Hermann in Kenosha.
Janet was a long-time member of Fountain Park United Methodist Church in Sheboygan, where she was a member of the choir and the United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Sweet Adelines International choral group and loved singing and dancing. She was an avid volunteer, and enjoyed tutoring students through Laubach Literacy, traveling, playing board games, scrapbooking and sewing.
She is survived by her husband, Wallace Hermann, 4 children and their spouses, Diane (Robert) Sewell of La Crosse, Kathy (Cal) Boswell of Johns Creek, Ga, Duane (Barbara) Becker of Janesville and Karen (Robert) Millholland of Madison. She is also survived by 7 step-children: Michael (Theresa) Hermann, Elizabeth Hermann, Paul Hermann, Sara Sloan, Susan (James) Hyde, Marta (Carlos) Hernandez and Peter (Keri) Hermann. She is further survived by 26 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, her sister Frances Wohlwend of Lakeland, MN, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Genevieve Palmquist and brothers Lawrence and O. Keith Nelson, and former husband William J. Becker.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Fountain Park United Methodist Church, 828 Erie Ave. in Sheboygan. The family will receive visitors at the church on Saturday from 10:00-11:00AM
Janet will be laid to rest at Ottawa Cemetery near Dousman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the church.
