Wallace J. Grube, 81, of rural Sheboygan Falls, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Wally, the youngest of seven children, was born March 13, 1933 in the town of Greenbush to the late Grover and Frieda (Gerke) Grube. On April 18, 1953, he married the former Kathleen Gruenke at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Wally served his country in the United States Army as a combat engineer in occupied Austria from 1954 until 1956. In 1963, he purchased Badger Hatchery Inc. and built a new feed mill in Howards Grove which he owned and operated until 2007. Wally enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling but mostly working with his customers. He was a member of the American Legion in Franklin. In addition to his wife, Kathleen, he is survived by four children, Greg (Gail) Grube, Paul (Cheryl) Grube, Christine (Michael) Gabriesle and Cindy Christus; eight grandchildren, Karl (Amanda) Grube, Melissa Grube, Daniel Gabriesle, Douglas Gabriesle, Dustin Gabriesle, Timothy (Kayla) Christus, Jeffrey Christus and Michelle Christus; four great-grandchildren, Zoey Grube, Henry Grube, Nolan Christus and Mason Christus. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Esther (Edward) Ruppenthal, Dorothy (Arthur) Rommelfaenger, Mildred (Francis) Van de Loo, Evelyn Grube; two brothers, Wesley (Dolores) Grube and Grover Grube, Jr. and one son-in-law, Randall Christus. A visitation and time of remembrance will be held for Wally on Friday, July 18, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Zimmer's Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center (Hwy 42 & JJ, Howards Grove). A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center for their care in his final days and to the staff of Harmony Living Center for their care over the last two years.
