Wayne J. Gollhardt went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday morning, March 20, 2017 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. He was 85 years old.
Wayne was born November 23, 1931 in Sheboygan, the son of Harold and Esther (nee Werner) Gollhardt. He was baptized, confirmed and graduated 8th grade at Bethlehem Church. After graduating from Central High School in 1951, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. On August 6, 1955, he was united in marriage with Dorine Dickman in Sheboygan.
For 45 years, Wayne worked at Johnsonville and later Piggly Wiggly in Sheboygan as a meat cutter, retiring in 1993. After retirement, he was a parking lot attendant for Sheboygan Transit.
Wayne was an avid Packers and Brewers fan who enjoyed watching sports and bowling (and was proud of his high score of 295). He loved bow hunting, trips to Oneida, playing cards, watching westerns, gardening and taking car rides through Kohler Andre. He proudly spoke of raising pigeons with his parents as a young man. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorine and their children: Todd Gollhardt of Sheboygan, Brian (Sue) Gollhardt of Howards Grove, Jay (Kay) Gollhardt, Wade (Karen) Gollhardt and Kelly Dicker, all of Sheboygan. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren: Jordan, Jessica (Eric), Ashley (Shawn), Mariah (Devan), Joel (James), Amanda (John), Anthony (Erica), Katarina, Maximilian and Logan; great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Hailey, Weston, Maggie and 2 on the way, his brother Gene (Dauna) Gollhardt, brother-in-law Bill Dickman, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
According to Wayne's wishes, private family services will be held. He will be laid to rest at Lutheran Cemetery in Sheboygan with full military honors.
The family would like to thank Dr. Nora and Dr. Kutticut, as well as Aurora At Home Hospice and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their compassionate care.
