Willard F. Meulbroek, 93, of Sheboygan, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at home. Willard was born September 5, 1922, in Sheboygan, to the late Cornelius and Nettie (Poppe) Meulbroek. He graduated from Sheboygan Central High School. On October 17, 1942, he married the former Darline Kautzer in Sheboygan. As a member of the greatest generation, Willard served his country in the United States Army, serving in the Pacific with the 1st Cavalry. During his time of service, Willard earned the Bronze Star and Silver Star. He was employed as a sheet metal worker at R.P. Honold Company until his retirement. At age 90, Willard participated in the Honor Flight, which he greatly enjoyed. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, wood carving and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 73 years, Willard is survived by three sons, Gary (Mary) Meulbroek, Roger (Crystal) Meulbroek and Bob (Linda) Meulbroek; ten grandchildren, Julie (Mike) Even, Chris (Craig) Sween, Brian (Kim) Meulbroek, David (Vicki) Meulbroek, Dawn (Craig) Braun, Ryan Meulbroek, Brett (Manda) Meulbroek, Brenda Meulbroek (fianc Shannon), Brandon (Shannon) Meulbroek and Britnee Meulbroek; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joan Rothe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Trisha Meinlof, one brother, Leroy Meulbroek and one brother-in-law, Tom Rothe. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Bethany Reformed Church (1315 Washington Avenue, Sheboygan) with the Rev. Philip Rose officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
