William A. Bahr went to see his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 26. He is now in Heaven with his bride of 60 years, Carol Bahr (Kiel) who preceded him in death November 2013. Bill was born to Oscar Henry Bahr and Wilhelmetta (Am End) on June 30th, 1928. He attended Kohler schools until he enrolled in the United States Army for the Chemical Corp. He attended Valparaiso University where he obtained a degree in Chemistry. Valpo is also where he met the love of his life, Carol. Bill was employed by American Can for more than 30 years, moving around the country and the world with his wife and children, Thomas Bahr (Martha), Jonathan Bahr (Margaret), Pegge Bahr. After retiring he started his own financial advisory business called Touchstone. Bill was very active at his church, Bethany Lutheran in Kohler, WI. He sang in the choir and held various offices. His favorite past times included antique clock repair, fishing, gardening (especially raising his orchids), and spending time with his three granddaughters, Lauren Bahr (special friend Nick), Alison Bahr (special friend Jake) and Samantha Bahr. Bill was loved and will be sorely missed by many. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Kohler. Rev. Robert W. Steele, Pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church and Dr. Ferdinand Bahr (brother), Interim Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, Milwaukee will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held from 10:30am until the time of service on Wednesday. Burial with full military honors will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Kohler. In lieu of flowers memorials should be made out to The Lutheran Hour (WJUB Radio).
