William P. "Butch" Hendrikse, age 83, of Sheboygan, peacefully went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 after a brief illness.
He was born January 20, 1934 in Sheboygan to the late Peter and Dena (Katte) Hendrikse. He attended Sheboygan Christian Grade School and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1951. After high School he started working for Sheboygan Falls Creamery as a milkman delivering milk with a horse and wagon to homes and stores. In 1955 he then went on to honor his country by serving in the US Army from 1955 - 1957.
On September 7, 1957 he married Joyce E. Bosman of Kenosha at First Christian Reformed Church in Kenosha. The couple made their home in Sheboygan. Joyce preceded him in death on May 8, 1995.
Butch was employed at Lake to Lake Dairy and later at Plastics Engineering until his retirement in 1996.
On November 15, 2001 Butch married Phyllis Haack. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2017.
Butch was a member of Christ Community Church (formerly First Christian Reformed Church). He was a member of Sheboygan Elks Lodge and enjoyed golfing, watching the Brewers, the Packers, and the Badgers. He also loved watching his grandchildren at their sporting events. Butch also enjoyed having morning coffee with his breakfast buddies.
He is survived by his two sons, William J. (Dena) Hendrikse and Todd P. (Sandy Madson) Hendrikse all of Sheboygan; his grandchildren, Nathan and Kayla Hendrikse; two sisters, Arlene Maxey of Sheboygan and Carol Woehlke of Fond du Lac; one sister-in-law, Rudie Hendrikse; one brother-in-law, Lowell Huenink; two step-daughters, Lori Petrie of Plymouth and Shari (Jim) Holtan of Prior Lake, MN; four step-grandchildren, Mickenzie and Brady Petrie, Benjamin and Alleyna Holtan.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Hendrikse, and four sisters, Jean (Joe) Traas, Marilyn (John) Andrewicz, Diane Huenink, Barbara Hendrikse and one step son-in-law, Jeff Petrie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Christ Community Church. Rev. Pat Hennen will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name for Christ Community Church.
