Mr. William (Bill) Otto Scott, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Hospital. He was 75 years old.
Bill was born June 27, 1941 in Sheboygan, the only child of William T. and Irene (nee Hammerschmidt) Scott. He attended St. Dominic and Sheboygan North, where he enjoyed playing basketball for the Raiders, before earning a Business Degree in 1964 from Marquette University.
Bill was diagnosed with major mental illness shortly after graduating college and the impact of his health struggles cannot be overstated. Despite this challenge, Bill was a kind, compassionate, loving man with a wonderful sense of humor who contributed what he could when he was able. He was a member of the 1907 Club for many years and sponsored others in recovery through Alcoholics Anonymous. Bill enjoyed bowling and dancing as well as playing pool and softball. He also loved rooting for the Packers and the Badgers. Bill had a tremendous love of music which he passed along to his daughters, along with his blue eyes (Aly) and red hair (Jacqui).
In 1997 Bill went to the doctor for a routine procedure and as a result of an unforeseen medical condition, he became confined to a wheelchair and needed to relearn how to speak. Around this time Bill came to live at Sunnyridge Health and Rehabilitation Center where he resided until the time of his passing.
Bill is survived by his children: Alyssa (Aly) Scott, Jacqueline (Jacqui) Scott-Papke (Dawn Scott-Papke), and William Frederick Scott, special friend Little Dove, former spouses Sara (Cunningham) Scott and Cheryl (Gilson) Scott, other relatives and many friends.
